Maldon
is a small country town that was once a thriving gold rush town and
has remained virtually unchanged since the 19th century. After the
decline of gold the town was ignored by developers because it was
‘off the beaten track’.
In 1996 the National Trust declared
Maldon to be Victoria’s first ‘Notable Town’.
Maldon is only an hour and a half
from Melbourne and with such charming accommodation it makes for
the ideal weekend getaway
